Hello! My name is Mary Ella Jourdak from Annapolis, Maryland. I am raising funds on behalf of my dear friends Deema and Muhammad who are living in Gaza. "I am Deema from Gaza, and I was preparing myself for marriage. My fiancé, Muhammad, and I lived a happy and peaceful life. Our wedding date was April 9, and we never imagined that we would live this recurring nightmare that disrupts our lives daily, after losing everything. We lost our warm homeland and our happy, quiet life, and all we have left are memories. On October 21, 2023, our home was completely destroyed, with little left to prepare. My fiancé lost his job. He worked in the vegetable trade, which was his only source. However, during the war, the market was completely destroyed and we wanted to establish a life outside the city. With the danger threatening my family, I decided to evacuate them outside the Strip and establish a safe life outside the city.

Before this tragedy, my fiancé had a stable job and our lives were happy. But now, the war has swept away his job, my home, and all our sources of income, and has left us on the rubble of our home, where we struggle daily to meet our simplest needs. We are burdened by constant anxiety about the availability of food. Suddenly he found myself solely responsible for providing for his large family's needs, a role he never expected to take on. It is an enormous responsibility, and he often feels helpless, fully aware that he has to protect and provide for us while I too am in desperate need of help. Despite everything, we still cling to hope. We dream of a day when we can rebuild our lives, heal from our injuries, and find a sense of normalcy again. This is why I am reaching out to you.

We desperately wish to rebuild our home, a place where we can feel safe and start a new life.
