A School for Children in Rutunga, Rwanda, Africa
Donation protected
The Bunderson-Boaz Family Foundation School is a proposed community-based school that will provide easy access to quality and affordable education. The school will also fully support children from needy families.
Thanks to previous donations, we have now purchased a three building school and completed the updates on the buildings and furniture. We are planning on beginning school on Sept. 25, 2023. We are trying to raise funds at this time to purchase supplies and appropriate books for teaching, update the playground, and have sufficient funds to pay our teachers until such time that we can become self-sustaining.
Most families in Rutunga are needy with poor standards of living, malnutrition cases among children are high, and failure to take children to school is due to lack of school fees and scholastic materials or lack of available classrooms.
Our mission is to provide easy access to affordable and quality education for children within the pre-primary school age including children from needy families as the main target group. The plan is to empower caregivers and teachers in play-based-learning and value-based education which will be taught to the children, to provide breakfast at school to help the children begin the day with proper nourishment, and to fight malnutrition through organizing cooking demonstrations with parents teaching them to prepare balanced meals.
