A School in Suburban Dhaka Needs a Laptop
Donation protected
On behalf of my friend, I am raising funds for a school teacher in an underserved community in Dhaka, Bangladesh, who needs to buy a laptop to enable the school children to have access to a digital classroom.
We reached out to a teacher, Syeda Azizun Nahar who has been working to bring child laborers to the mainstream education system. We sat down with a few of her students and learned that often they are compelled to take the place of their ailing family members in factories with dangerous working conditions.
Shishu Kallyan Primary School is an institute that caters to them. This is a school run by the Shishu Kallyan Trust. However, due to a lack of federal funds, these schools struggle to operate. Covid has also impacted their education due to the digital divide. The administration requires the teachers to work online, however, the teachers aren't paid enough to buy a decent device for themselves.
The environment of the schools is in dire need of life. It is getting difficult for the teachers to get these children to attend classes. Read more about this special school for special children here .
The funds received will be used to refurbish an old Dell laptop and once received will be sent directly to the school teacher, Syeda Azizun Nahar.
