A Service Dog for Marcus
Donation protected
This is a 2-3 year fundraiser we are having in hopes to raise money to buy a service dog for our son Marcus. Marcus was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. Since then, it has been an exciting challange in raising him and meeting his needs. We are hoping that with a service dog, Marcus will be stopped from running away in public places, running into the street, and leaving the house while we are sleeping (He can reach the locks and knows how to open them). We also have hopes that with this new companion, Marcus will be able to sleep in his own bed and be soothed when having meltdowns (not just your regular tantrum). Finally we are hoping that a service dog compaion will encourage Marcus to be less introverted, as that is one of his greatest challanges. When we learned about service dogs we were so excited, until we discovered how much they cost and realized that we just couldn't afford this accomodation for Marcus, even if we saved for 2-3 years. But just like we will never set limitations on Marcus' potential, we must never limit the possibility that others will help us to fufill his needs. We have been blessed so far with support from so many and we know in our hearts we can raise the money for this too. If you know my family then you know how much your help means to us and we will be forever greatful. Thank you!
