A short film that celebrates classic literature!

I’m a writer and producer in L.A. but I’m also a high school English teacher. I spend my trying to persuade teenagers to care about literature and beautiful figurative language. (I’ll be honest, that’s not going well.)

Watching the classics get shoved aside in our curriculum year after year is heartbreaking enough. But when I heard from my own district that they’ll be replacing even Shakespeare with more modern literature - I had to respond. What's worse? I can't even convince most of them to read anything at all!

"Forget-Me-Not" is a 10 minute short film that is a love letter to classic literature. It centers around a group of literary characters who are in danger of entering oblivion - forgotten forever. But they refuse to be forgotten because all it takes is inspiring new readers to discover their books! This story will set off a classroom campaign to "Set a classic free."

This film reminds us that literary characters can inspire us, and they can inspire a new generation as well. It was those characters that taught me to be brave and find my own voice growing up and they deserve to be remembered - and rediscovered! (Maybe you had a few literary character friends as well!)

In order to give this film its best chance at film festivals and in classrooms across the country, we hired a fantastic crew that can make that happen. Hence the need for the funds.
