A Single Dad in Need of Support

Hi everyone,

I’m putting my pride aside to say that I really need some help right now, and any support would be genuinely appreciated.

Many of you know that I’ve been restoring classic films and sharing them on YouTube in my spare time. While it’s something I’ve loved doing, it was also helping to support my income—until things took a turn for the worse at the end of February. I lost around 70% of my viewers almost overnight. Despite numerous conversations with YouTube, they’ve told me there’s nothing wrong and to keep uploading. Unfortunately, things haven’t improved—in fact, they’ve only gone downhill.

YouTube made up around half of my income. The other half came from building and hosting websites for clients, something I’ve done for many years. But since early March, I’ve lost around half of those clients, and many of the websites I manage have dropped in search rankings.

To top it off, my MacBook—essential for all my work—has just given up on me. It’s not a luxury; it’s an absolute necessity for everything I do, from client work to keeping any income coming in. Without it, I’m stuck.

Some people might say, “Why not get a regular job?” But that’s simply not an option for me. I’m a single parent and full-time carer for my disabled son. The benefits we receive only cover about half the rent, and working from home is the only realistic way I can provide for us.

This GoFundMe is to help me replace my work equipment so I can keep working and hopefully get back on my feet. I’ve always worked hard and done my best, but right now I’m genuinely scared of losing everything. I already have a loan for my son’s physio equipment and car finance, my credit card is nearly maxed out, and I’ve got very little left in the bank.
