A Single Mom Battling Cancer Needs Your Help!

When your sole parent has cancer, your world stops. No matter how old you are and no matter what phase of life you are in.

Close your eyes, and think about a single mom that is in your life. Chances are, that you know someone that is a single parent- maybe you were raised by one, maybe you are one, maybe its a co-worker, or a friend. This can be especially difficult when you receive a cancer diagnosis.

Kathleen Temple, known as Kathy by her friends and family, IS that parent. She is the parent of 4 biological children, and she also adopted her granddaughter 6 years ago. One of her children has a disability, and her adult son whom she also cares for suffers from kidney failure, and brain injury. Kathy has worked her whole life, to provide for these 5 children, working long hours on her feet and doing what she could to make life comfortable for them. Kathy was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer- she especially has a difficult time with breathing and walking, causing her to be unable to work at all. She utilizes an oxygen tank full time, and has begun the process of filing for disability- a concept foreign to her as she has always worked 12-15 hr days in order to provide for her children and make ends meet.

We are asking for help, because she now has virtually no source of income to care for herself and her 3 children she has still living in her home. Savings are dwindling down, and with the costs of medical bills, pending disability claim, and stress of an unexpected and awful diagnosis of lung cancer, she is really struggling.
