A Skatepark for Church Stretton
Donation protected
We believe that our home town Church Stretton deserves a skatepark. There is already space waiting in the town park, where an old wooden skatepark once stood.
A skatepark is a positive influence on a community, giving young people a place to play, socialise and express themselves.
An opportunity to receive some metal ramps with composite surfacing from Telford & Wrekin council has arisen and we would like Church Stretton Town Council to properly consider our proposal. These ramps are not effected adversely by weather and the surfaces have a life of 10+ years and the ramps even longer.
We will aim to cover costs of transport and resurfacing ourselves and would appreciate any additional funding and assistance with installation to meet the requirements of the local council in creating a sustainable space.
We have budgeted for 12 sheets of Skatelite pro composite boarding at £180 a sheet (£2160) transport costs, painting and fixings as well as labour costs for the council to finalise or sign off on any work.
Many volunteers are available and willing to help with the transport, the resurfacing and painting of the ramps. These ramps are a start to what could be a well developed skatepark one day.
All we need is for Church Stretton Town Council to confirm with Telford & Wrekin council that we have a home for these ramps. This is urgent, we have a matter of days before the ramps are to be scrapped.
