A student in dire need of community support
Donation protected
Br. Abbas Hussain, a student in Melbourne, was diagnosed with acute kidney failure in July 2022. He was immediately rushed to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he was informed that the only way out was a kidney transplant, otherwise, he had a minimal chance of survival.
With no financial backing or family support in Melbourne, he was flown to India on emergency for further treatment. Back then, a fundraiser of $30,000 was done to support his treatment.
Upon arrival in India, he had to find a matching donor which was a tedious task. It took him 8 long months to find a donor. During this time, he had to undergo 3 Dialysis per week for the full 8 months to survive until the surgery. This ate up most of the accumulated funds. Finally, the organ donation was done by his wife & a successful surgery was performed in the month of March 2023.
Both Abbas & his wife are now recovering from the surgery, but it will require more time, along with an immense amount of strength & money to bring the family back to normal life. They have two young daughters to support & Abbas is the only bread earner for the family.
With the rising amounts of hospital bills & absolutely nothing left from the collected funds, we are again coming to the community to generously donate & give Abbas another chance to resume his life. Once recovered, he is hopeful to come back to Australia & restart his life.
Let's support him one last time & pray for his speedy recovery.
