A Survivor’s Journey

Hi, I am Sheri Locascio. I am a disabled healthcare worker, who decided to take my power back from my abuser on Dec 14th 2021. I have always believed we all have the unique ability to be the hero in our own story, and make the ending anything we wanted. Mine, was not going to be that of an abused, beaten down woman.

I walked out with 7 boxes, a rocking chair, and towed my car half way across the country. I promised myself a better future. I have made big strides since that day. I've done a lot of healing with an amazing therapist who specializes in PTSD, I'm working with a caseworker for affordable housing, and have made several good connections.

Unfortunately, while my car was in the shop to be winterized, they found several issues when they inspected the vehicle. The bottom had rusted completely through, the computer board within the car needs replacement also. It will cost 5-6k to repair it. Gut punch to say the least! It is a 20 year old VW bug, so I can't see putting that much money into it.

I've never been good at asking, but I am humbling myself and asking for some help. Anything given will help. I have some money saved, but will need much of it for apartment expenses once I move in. I have nothing except a twin bed and my rocker.
