Hi everyone,
I am Marco Cliselli, a filmmaking student raising funds for my graduation project, the short film, A Tale of Two. For the last two years, I have been studying at MetFilm School Berlin where I have developed my skills as a filmmaker and found my passion for screenwriting.
I plan on filming this between the 19th - 25th of August!
Logline
A struggling young screenwriter visits his parents to pitch his new script, but when he finds out his ex-girlfriend has ambiguously left his parents a bag of coffee each, he must find out why.
I love a story that is driven by dialogue. Noah Baumbach, Greta Gerwig, Ryusuke Hamaguchi. Dialogue conducted into hectic ballads of miscommunication and familial trauma. That is what drove me to write this story. A struggling screenwriter seeking the approval of the people around him to create a sense of worth, what could go wrong?
Taking inspiration from my own struggles with seeking approval, national identity and creativity, I hope this story will be a witty reflection to an answer I still seek.

Where will your donations go?
Casting (850 euros)
- Since this is a dialogue driven story, I would love to find a cast of four actors who are going to be the driving force of this story. Talented, dependable individuals.
Catering (200 euros)
- Even though I'm Italian making a movie about Italians, I would like to stay away from giving pizzas to my crew. A well-fed crew is a happy crew, and a happy crew is a good experience.
Locations (450 euros)
- The locations, primarily the houses and apartments of my characters, have to be an extension of the characters. While I hope to find willing collaborators to possibly host us for free, a margin of the budget will be placed as a safety net, just in case the locations have to rented.
Art Department (500 euros)
- As I said, the locations have to be extensions of the characters. Every choice of bowl, colour of the curtains, fabric of the pillow cases has to be a realistic choice made by the characters.
My goal with this project is for it to get selected at film festivals and use it as a debut for my personal storytelling style.
