A thank you to the North Devon Hospice
This month on October 12th marks 10 years since we lost my mum ‘Jackie’, she was and always be my greatest supporter and inspiration in anything I do.
As many of you may know my mum devoted much of her time, even when poorly herself, organising several events to raise money for the organisations that inevitably cared for her in her last weeks of life. I will always remember how beautifully all staff at the hospice cared for my mum until the very end. Those final memories will stay with me forever but because of the hospice team they remain happy ones.
As an oncology nurse now myself I can appreciate how much a simple thank you can mean. With this in mind I set myself a goal this year to run 10K to mark this 10 year anniversary and hopefully raise as much money as possible for the North Devon Hospice as a thank you for everything they do.
Training to run a 10k has been much harder than expected and I’ve found I’m definitely no natural born runner! But I have been determined to never give up!
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help support the Hospice continue their incredible work.
And finally here’s to my Mum! What an incredible women ❤️
North Devon Hospice is a local charity providing specialist care and support to people who are affected by a life-limiting illness. Although many of our patients have cancer, we also care for people who have other life-limiting illnesses too, such as Motor Neurone Disease, Heart Failure and COPD, among others. Our patients and their families are at the heart of everything we do.
