A Thanksgiving birthday wish

Hi! This year has been a year of big shifts and magic for me. And approaching my 55 th birthday on October 9.

I have an ask.

I was in France weeks ago and lived out a lifetime dream. We found the cave where Mary Magdalene spent the last 30 years of her life. I prayed in that space to be filled with enough love, compassion and Grace to begin to heal the world around me, those I could touch.

I have been watching a junior high school friend walking a knife edge of homelessness with her two older kids. Set back upon set back and now winter looms and they are living in campgrounds trying to secure a place to live by winter so that they can get jobs and start again. I have been a single mom, but I was blessed with a career that made it easy to look after my family.

They say most people are 3 pay checks away from the possibility of homelessness. I am watching this.

I knew her well when I was 12 years old. And what I remember was that at 12 when girls aren’t kind, she always was. Always included people. Especially me.

Sometimes when we hit rock bottom, the most powerful thing is to know that even people we don’t know are out there sending us prayers and rooting for us.
