A Tree Fell Through Our Parents Home
Donation protected
Hi my name is Macy, and my sister is Chelsi. As some may not know, these past couple years have been a troubling and challenging time for our parents Misty and Maurice Halstead. In 2021 my dad was hospitalized due to a heart condition that could have taken his life. Thankfully, after many new heart medications, he is under the care of a cardiologist but has been doing better. In the course of the last year or so, my dad had a work accident leaving him with a broken ankle and foot, having to have multiple surgeries and eventually an entire ankle replacement. This has left him off work for almost two years now. He has always been the sole provider for their family. He has filed for disability but has yet to receive any answers. Just when they thought they were on the upward slope of his recovery, the storms hit June 25th. As they were keeping shelter inside of their home. Suddenly a tree fell through their trailer, within just ten short feet of where they were sitting. This has completely ruined their home, cutting it in half. This has caused them to lose their home, lose some of their belongings and is causing much more stress and frustration. With being unable to walk or work, they have been living mostly on savings. The little to no income they have, is going to make this hard for them to bounce back from. They are not ones to ask for any help. Although times are hard for everyone currently, anything at this time will help. All donations will go to our parents to help with potentially finding a new home, replacing items they can, helping with groceries and getting them back on their feet. Anything you could donate would be greatly appreciated. They would be beyond thankful.
