A Tragic Loss: Help Yulia’s Children Continue Skating

Everyone has already heard about the terrible plane crash in Washington DC… This horrific tragedy took the lives of our dear friend Yulia and her 11-year-old son, Ilya (his American name was Sean Kay). Ilya was one of the top ice dancers in the country for his age and dreamed of making it to the Olympic team. Yulia was an incredible mother who lived for her children. She spent her days taking them to training, helping them fight for their dreams, and worked nights as a nurse to pay for ice time, costumes, travel, and coaches. She gave everything she had for their future.

Back home in Delaware, her husband, Vitali, their 14-year-old daughter, and two sons, ages 10 and 7, are left shattered. Their world collapsed in a moment. The only thing that can help them hold on is figure skating. For this family, it’s not just a sport—it’s their life, their connection to their mother and brother, their way of coping with unbearable loss.

But training, ice time, and costumes are expensive. Now, the family has only one income, which is not enough to support the children’s skating. We are asking for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small, is a chance for these motherless children to not lose themselves in this tragedy. This family, and especially their late mother, lived for skating. If the children lose the opportunity to skate now, their lives will fall apart even more, and they will lose the last thread connecting them to their past, their dreams, and the loved ones they lost…

Let’s support them now, and maybe, one day, one of them will skate on Olympic ice in memory of their beloved mother and brother.

Илья был среди лучших фигуристов страны его возраста в танцах на льду и мечтал об Олимпийской сборной. Юля была невероятной мамой, которая жила ради своих детей. Днем она водила их на тренировки, помогала бороться за мечту, а по ночам работала медсестрой, чтобы оплачивать лед, костюмы, поездки, тренеров… Она отдавала все без остатка ради их будущего.

Но тренировки, лед, костюмы – все это стоит дорого. У семьи остался только папин доход и его не хватит на поддержку занятий фигурным катанием детям. Мы очень просим вас помочь. Любая сумма - это шанс для детей, оставшихся без мамы, не потерять себя в этой трагедии. Эта семья, и особенно погибшая мама, жили коньками. Если сейчас дети потеряют возможность кататься, их жизни развалятся еще больше, и они потеряют последнюю нить, связывающую их с прошлым, с мечтой, с родными, которых уже нет…

Давайте поддержим их сейчас, и может быть однажды кто-то из них выступит на Олимпийском льду в память о своих погибших маме и брате.
