A Trek for the Planet - Rainforest Alliance

Hello! Thank you for considering supporting me as I raise money for the Rainforest Alliance! This organization is near and dear to my heart and on a mission to create a more sustainable world using social and market forces to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and forest communities.

Starting 22 September, 30 of my McKinsey colleagues and I will begin trekking the Lemosho route on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with Charity Challenge to raise awareness and funds for a range of ESG-related charities. The travel, trip, and carbon offset costs are self-funded, and we will trek and backcountry camp for 8 days before attempting to summit the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro at 5,895m (19,340 ft). Kilimanjaro is the highest single free-standing mountain in the world, and climbing it is representative of the challenge we all face to protect our planet. Each of my colleagues is fundraising at least $1000 for the Rainforest Alliance, World Wildlife Fund, Ocean Cleanup, or Safe Lives, resulting in a collective $30K (minimum) raised for these charities!

If you're on this page, you know that sustainability is one of the causes about which I am most passionate. Given the unprecedented weather we've seen globally in the past few months, there could not be a more prescient time to support the organizations working to mitigate the impact of climate change on the environment and the livelihoods of the people in it. I would be so grateful if you helped me in reaching my fundraising goal! If donations are not possible for you at this time, moral support is equally as appreciated, as I'm not the Ng sister who hikes for a living ;)

For transparency, McKinsey matches firm member charitable donations in kind. Therefore, any funds you give through this GoFundMe secure portal will go directly to me, and I will donate them in their entirety to the Rainforest Alliance via my company's portal in order to double the amount I raise.
