A Tribute For Reef Baker

I am setting up the go fund me on behalf of Reef Baker and his family.

Our hearts are broken for Reef, who unexpectedly passed away at the tender age of 16.

Reef had a heart of gold. He would help those in need, friends and strangers alike. In his tragically short life, he touched many lives and brought much love and happiness to his family, friends, and his community. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Reef was a twin and had a special, unbreakable bond with his sister, Rainey. They were best friends, who did everything together. Rainey never thought that she would travel through life without Reef by her side. They had countless dreams, endless plans and travels planned for a bright and promising future together that will never be realized. We are certain that Reef will be standing beside Rainey from heaven, making sure that she has him as her guardian angel.

Reef’s name was a perfect fit. He was an athlete and an avid sailor. Reef was surfing by age 5, skateboarding by age 6, sailing by age 8; racing with the Palm Beach Sailing Club team for years and the Greenwich varsity sailing team.

Reef had love and respect for the world's oceans. He wanted to make a difference, for the better, of all ocean life which is integral to our ocean's ecosystem. Reef admired Jacques Cousteau, a pioneer of ocean conservation, and worked together with Jacques' grandson on a year-long school project in Cousteau’s honor.

Funds raised for Reef will go towards significant expenses faced; funeral and burial expenses and more. Your support will make a meaningful difference for Reef’s family during this unimaginable time.

We ask that the reality of the fentanyl epidemic be discussed with your loved ones. Too many wonderful people of all ages have been taken from us. Together we can make a difference.
