A Tribute to our Friend Jade Nicol
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Matt and I’ve started this page to benefit the family members of a dear co-worker Jade Nicol. The funds raised will go to his wife Vivian Nicol and his mom Debra Nicol (shown in the cover picture with Jade) to help pay for the various funeral costs and medical expenses they have incurred.
Let me tell you a little about Jade Nicol:
If you work in the swimming pool business in California, chances are you’ve met Jade. Jade got his start at his families business in Huntington Beach, CA and throughout his life has worked in different facets of the Pool Industry. Many of you have known him over the years as a territory sales manager in the SF Bay Area, Sacramento & Central Valley for Jandy/Fluidra as well as at Hayward Pool Products. He was a pool guy through and through. His passion for sales, his work ethic, and his love of customers was evident. He treated his teammates and his clients like family. He was like a brother to our Team in the West at Fluidra.
Jade went in for heart surgery Thursday (Feb 16th) to repair a valve defect he was born with. The team got positive news that the surgery was complete and that he was recovering. But unfortunately on Friday things had taken a turn for the worse due to some complications. By 3:45pm Saturday (Feb 18th) he was gone.
Jade was a good man, a good friend, a good husband, a good son… and we will all miss him. He was the best teammate possible and was always striving for something better within our organization. Jade even won the most prestigious award within Fluidra called Circle of Champions in its inaugural year back in 2011 for Sales Excellence. He’s the only rep in history to win that award with us and win the MVP of the year award during his time at Hayward Pool Products. I wanted to take this moment to honor a Swimming Pool industry veteran who made a difference to so many.
At times like these, remember why we work so hard each day. Each day we go to work to provide a living for our loved ones and often spend as many hours with our work family as we do with our own family. Do it in a way as to be a positive influence. Be a kinder person, stay true to ourselves, and treat the customers and employees we have with the utmost respect and we will have them for many years. Jade lived by that. Jade loved his family, he loved his teammates, he loved his customers, and he loved the beach and going surfing. He had more energy than most which is why it’s so hard to see him gone. This world is harsh, and we long for a better one. Until then, cherish the time you have with those that you love… it’s precious.
We will miss you Jade. You’ve made a lasting impression on many.
If you can find it in your heart to donate to the family of Jade Nicol they would certainly be grateful for the show of support.
Jade was born 4/27/1970 and passed away 2/18/2023 at the age of 52.
There will be a celebration of life near his home in Fresno at The Chapel of the Light, 2PM Thursday March 2nd. (1620 W. Belmont Ave., Fresno, CA. 93728)
There will be a “paddle out” for those of his friends that surfed near Huntington Beach, CA at a later date.
