A voice for Israel - Calgary Jews Stand United

Hi. My name is Michael. I was born in South Africa, Johannesburg's Jewish community. I grew up and spent most of my life in Israel. I now reside in the small Jewish community of Calgary.

First, from the bottom of my heart, I wanted to thank every donor of the previous GoFundMe, and all participant of our rallies that we have hold over the past few months. Thanks to you, our message was delivered loudly and clearly. None of this would've been possible without your support, whether through donations or attendance. We came together as a strong, united community standing against the ever-growing antisemitism plaguing our beautiful city.

Alongside other organizers, we formed a group that came to be known as CJSU - Calgary Jews Stand United. With the onset of winter and increasingly cold temperatures, we now seek to hold indoor events which would occur ideally biweekly to monthly. These events, which would have the dual aim of bringing our community closer together and supporting Israel, would differ each time. Our plans include ceremonial gatherings, family-friendly events, and seminars featuring international speakers. Concurrently, we will continue to be a voice for Israel in Calgary, striving to refute common current misinformation tropes spread by Hamas supporters.

Thus, we are now reopening this fundraiser as a group. Funding will go toward organizing and hosting the aforementioned community events, securing speakers and producing materials relevant to our endeavour. We will be a local voice for Israel and strive to ensure the spread of facts to counter misinformation. As always, our efforts will be peaceful, respectful and mindful of our surroundings.
