A walk to support Daniel
Donation protected
We have recently found out that a friend of ours son Daniel has been diagnosed with ocular melanoma, this has come as a shock to all his family and friends. Daniel is only 16 and in the middle of doing his GCSE's.
Daniel attended a routine eye test at the opticians, were they noticed a brown lesion on his eye that looked suspicious which had indistinct margins and its own blood supply, opticians referred Daniel to St Pauls eye hospital Liverpool, were he underwent a series of tests. After completion of these test Daniel was referred to Oncology were he was diagnosed.
Daniel will be starting Proton beam radiation at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral on the 28th May. This radiation comes with unpleasant side effects, which we can all agree is not very nice for a 16 year old child to experience.
We have a good group of lads who all attend the Liverpool games with Daniel and when we heard the news, we knew instantly we wanted to help in anyway we could.
We will be doing a walk up Snowdonia to raise awareness of this type of cancer, and also provide funds for Daniel and his family to help with any financial burden they may endure, during this difficult period.
This walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6th July 2024, further details will follow in regards of time, within the next week. If you would like to sponsor us on our walk for Daniel we would greatly apricate it.
Anyone who would also like to join the walk are more than welcome, if you would like to participate contact Mark, or leave a message on here and we can contact you.
