A Walk with Bella saved by 3 yr old grandson Kani

Hello Friends and Family, it’s your friend Stacie here! It’s been a bit of a challenge for me to even write this. You know I’m always on Facebook posting pictures but they are old pictures of me and my family and grandkids
especially my 3 yr old broke friend/grandson Kani! I haven’t put any new photos up since the end of June just wasn’t ready to talk about this yet!!
HERE THE STORY
On July 2nd around 7:30 ish pm while out on a evening walk with Kani trying to get him tired out so I can bathe him and put him to bed which is our routine when he comes to visit us!
We live in New Jersey on a dead end street shape like a horseshoe and not a lot of traffic comes down our street! Kani was playing with rocks etc we walked around the horseshoe area and I went to step on the slanted curb and missed it! I fell completely on my face and lost conscious, broke my nose!! Without any hesitation or crying my grandson crossed the street and walked home to get my husband and told him (Bella) that’s what my grandkids call me, fell down on the ground. They came and found me still unconscious laying there with my sundress and striped socks on between 2 big trash cans since the next day was trash day and It was warm outside so most people were inside with the air conditioners on. Our neighborhood is pretty quite our neighbor was taken his trash out and my husband asked him to called the ambulance it took me to the Hospital. They X-ray my body and it was pretty damage until they sent me to Jefferson Mgee hospital in Philly they did surgery on my neck and now I have metal screws and rods in my neck that surgery was over and then they had to turn right back around and do another emergency surgery on my spine because they saw blood clots on it and if they didn’t do that spinal surgery I would have been dead or permanently paralyzed!! The Spinal Cord Surgery was a great success!! I was in the hospital for over 2 months and doing better day by day! They had me doing Physical and Occupational Therapy there and then continued it at home! The healing does not stop, the pain is still there which slows down my progress at times but I’m a fighter and I truly have to get back to being me ! I must say that Jefferson Hospital/Magee Rehab Center are absolutely wonderful from the Doctors to the Nurses and AIDS and Therapists I want to say THANK YOU ! I now use A Motorize Wheelchair and Walker but trust me not for long! I had to relearn and still learning how to do EVERYTHING OVER From eating, dressing, writing walking you name it and I mean you name it! I’m now considered a SCI = Spinal Cord Injury Survivor or Patient! Of course I’ve been out of work since this happened I miss them and I was told that the residents miss me and can’t wait to see me! As you know the bills/hospital bills are hitting in a different way now! ‍♀️ My husband and family & friends did some adjustments throughout the house and made it wheelchair accessible for me. I’m truly Blessed to have the family & friends I have! THIS IS REALLY WHAT YOU CALL A FREAK ACCIDENT! MY 3 year old GRANDSON KANI IS MY LITTLE HERO! He really UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT CRYING OR PANICKING until I got into the ambulance that’s when he cried I still get emotional when thinking and talking about it and for him to walk across the street and to our home to get his Pop-Pop (my husband) was very smart for a 3 yr old he amazes me in all that he does!! PRAYING and PRAYERS HELP ME THROUGH IT ALL AND STILL DO!
I honestly want to Thank my village for being there for me and the hospital visits, calls, cards, food and those traveling far and near! I love you all and Thank You!!
If you know you know! Continue to please keep me in your prayers! I’m sharing a GoFund Me with you all and you are more than welcome to share!
I Love and Thank You ❤️
