A Way Back for Wyatt
Donation protected
Wyatt Word is a 19-year-old young man who suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a drunk driver just before Christmas. Wyatt has lived in Brentwood his entire life with his mother, father, and 17-year old sister Hannah. Wyatt recently completed his certification to become a phlebotomist and had been working during the pandemic.
Wyatt nearly succumbed to his injuries from this accident which included a broken pelvis, broken hips, lung damage and severe blood loss. He has had multiple surgeries and medical interventions to bring him to the point where he can begin the process to come home. Because of COVID, the hospital would like Wyatt to continue receiving care in the safety of his own home so he will be released from the hospital very soon.
We are so incredibly thankful for the prayers for Wyatt and believe God will continue to heal him. Many friends have asked how they can help which is why we started this page. Any donations received will go directly to Wyatt to help with modifications to the house as he transitions into recovery at home, therapy, equipment, assistance and his education. Wyatt has big plans to become a fire fighter and recently applied to be a Fire Aide with the San Ramon Valley Fire District. He is schedule to begin fire classes in a few weeks. His mom, Heidi, is hopeful that he will be able to participate in the classes via Zoom.
Thank you for keeping Wyatt in your thoughts and prayers as he begins the healing process!
