A whole community's worth of help is needed.

Hello. I want to talk to you about something that's becoming repulsively common in American: Medical bankruptcy.

A dear woman is in serious trouble, and I want to call upon your help. Because she's a delightful human being and because many of the people reading this know her, her name will not be mentioned. And there is the added fact that she tried one of these campaigns before and, in true American fashion, was publicly ridiculed and shamed.

She has been evicted from her home, effective today, and she and her service animal have no place to go. Living in a car won't work because her's was totaled some time ago. There is no money to pay off the apartment complex or to find a new place. She can't even afford a motel. Her communications all have to take place where there's wifi because she has no cellular service.

How has this situation come about? In the most American way possible: Medical bills. She spent years devoting everything she had to caring for her father during his fight with cancer. He passed away a short while ago, and cleaning up his estate turned into a nightmare of family squabbling, that resulted in her being forced to take care of nearly everything financial, burial, etc., and otherwise being cut out of the proceedings. Her step siblings denied her what her father had wanted her to have.

She has landed a position as a substitute teacher, but that doesn't start until September. To put it bluntly, she needs money now.

If we can raise $1800 very quickly, it will be enough to stop the hemorrhaging until she can get a few things straightened out.
