Support a young man's dream!

My name is Chalcea Malec, and I manage a daycare center in Victoria, BC. Ralph Dacanay came to us as a practicum student in the Early Childhood Education program at a local college. He's done exceptionally well in that program and we were not surprised to learn that he's already received a job offer to begin work after he completes his third practicum in early December.

Ralph is an extremely responsible young person who has continued to work 20 hours per week (with a full course and practicum load) in order to cover his own living expenses. The photo attached was taken in October when he received an award of recognition from his employers.

But Ralph's difficulty is this. When his uncle passed away in the Philippines in August, the burden of his funeral expenses fell to Ralph's older brother, who had been financing his education.

Without a lump sum of at least $3000, the college will not release Ralph's diploma, allowing him to take the job he's been offered as a licensed Early Childhood Educator and pay for the remaining $10k in tuition fees, or pursue the career for which he has prepared - in a field where his skills and abilities are so desperately needed!
