Study Abroad: A Year In Barcelona
Donation protected
Hello everybody!
I'm raising tuition money for my education abroad.
I've been accepted into a liberal arts study abroad program with IES in Barcelona, Spain. My program is a full academic year - August 2017 until April 2018.
My studies will be centered around literature, politics, and Spanish.
I'm currently a sophomore at the University of St. Thomas with a double major in English and American Culture and Difference with a minor in Spanish.
I'm a Dease and Excel! Scholar at the University of St. Thomas. I'm a programming intern for the Diversity Activities Board. I'm also a cabinet member for the Young Women's Initiative for the state of Minnesota. I'm a member of multiple clubs and committees and I'm dedicated to creating positive social change here on campus.
I decided to take my studies abroad to Barcelona to not only improve my global perspective but to challenge myself by living in a country and studying a culture and language that isn't my own for a year.
I'll be leaving my home state of Minnesota in late August. I'll be working several jobs this summer; I'll be conducting research for the Excel! Scholars program and I'll be serving to help pay for tuition and housing expenses.
Any money that you are willing to give will help in a tremendous way. Thank you for any and all donations; I greatly appreciate anything and everything you will give to support my dreams to study abroad.
Thank you,
Grace Maruska
