Urgent Help for Marc Henry and his family in Haiti

Donation protected
I’m reaching out to share a story about Marc Henry, a young friend of mine, and ask for your support to help him and his family get through the current crisis in Haiti.

I met Marc Henry in 2014 when I went to Haiti to volunteer for the Caribbean Children’s foundation. He’s bright and loves math, and wants to be an engineer.

We've stayed in touch over the years. I've learned a lot about Haiti, and seen him grow up from afar. He always kept his troubles to himself. But I just learned that his family is eating every other day, for the last 5 months. And his father’s fishing net, the main income for his family, is no longer repairable.

Disruptions in food and fuels supplies are now happening multiple times a week throughout the country. Gas is $6.00 if your’re lucky enough to get it after you wait on a line for 12 hours. Once it runs out, it’s resold for $11.00 a gallon. Scarce food supplies are often bought and resold at a higher price as well.

The funds are for food and house supplies for him and his family to eat and buy livestock, and become self-sustainable again, and for his dad to get a used fishing net. Whatever funds you can spare, be it $1.00, $25.00, or more, would be greatly, greatly appreciated. It’s a desperate situation.

Thank you so much for your support. Olivia
