My husband, Doug Picard, came down with Guillaine-Barre Syndrome. This disease is caused from one's immune system attacking the body's nerve endings causing paralysis. It starts in the feet and hands, spreading up the body. If it's not treated in time, it will spread to the lungs and kill you. Thank goodness he was able to start the treatment in time. It is devastating, frustrating, and scary. We have been through hell. He is temporarily paralyzed, and might not be able to walk for 6 months or more. He will not be able to work, because his job is physical. His recovery is going to be a long hard road, and any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
