It is after much thought and consideration that we have decided to request and accept financial help with our IVF funding from family and friends.
It has been our dream to have a family since we were married in 2008. Our time spent with the little ones of our family and friends has only reaffirmed our desire and commitment to become parents. We recently received an answer as to why our dream has been delayed. Justin was born with a genetic defect that has left his little swimmers trapped without an exit strategy. All other testing between the two of us indicates that we should have no further complications.
Moving forward, the next step in our fertility journey will be In Vitro Fertilization using our own eggs and surgically removed sperm. The compilation of the medical expenses involved with this procedure, in addition to other medical and life changing expenses that come standard with having a child, has led us to do the one thing we both hate to do when it comes to ourselves...ask for help.
This is not something we ask lightly. We have very open expectations and understand that no amount of help is too small. By no means do we wish for anyone to feel obligated to donate. We thank you all for your support, thoughtfulness, love and prayers up to this point and as we move forward.
