Support Carolines recovery

How would you describe Caroline? Besides loud? Funny? Outgoing? Competitive? Positive? Argumentative? and behind all of that a heart of gold! 

What many of you don't know is that behind that cheeky smile- is a battle few of us know much about......except those very close to her.

Just over 5 years ago Caroline was diagnosed with anti-phospholipid syndrome, following an arterial clot.

For several years the disease was managed well with blood thinners, and with some minor life changes Caroline managed to continue to work full time as a paediatric nurse and raise her beautiful daughter.

In late November last year whilst at a work retreat this all changed.
Caroline discovered that the disease- which is poorly understood and quite rare became out of control.

Caroline developed several further clots, one of which has left permanent damage to one of her kidneys.

This resulted in Caroline requiring many painful procedures, high doses of intravenous steroids, immunosuppressive chemotherapy, plasma exchanges, central lines, and several operations.

Despite having over 7 months off work Caroline's tenacity, positive outlook and resilience prevailed and despite a life threatening infection in early June this year- Caroline appeared to recover and fight back, she had her central lines removed (much to her delight)....
Caroline returned to work in late June and was grading up to full time work again.

Two weeks ago, this again changed and she is back with a central line and permacath having plasma exchange and intensive treatment.

Caroline now finds herself in a situation where she needs time to rest- and unfortunately as a single mum living in Sydney doesn't have the financial means to take extensive time off work unpaid.
