Hello, I am Alexis Stamatelopoulos, and let me tell you about this wild ride that started with a simple idea during my junior year in high school. From raising funds, to hopping on a plane to Uganda, and setting up a computer lab in a school in Kabale. Fast forward a few months, and now we’re running weekly digital sessions with the kids there. And guess what? This is just the beginning! So I wanted to take this a step further, with this I decided to start VIVAIO EMPOWER. This is a project that I created back in late November 2023. Since the establishment of the first school I have been approached by many people to join my project, and since then I have chosen the 4 best applicants, Nikhil Bhasin, Jonathan Fuhrman, James Ball, and Alexi Baski. Now we’re a thriving club with four founding members, and more to come.
The Project Goal: Extend schools to 10 running schools in Africa
- Reach 5,000 kids in the developing world, over the next 12 months.
- Partner with nine more schools (two are already on our waiting list!).
- Expand and perfect our digital curriculum.
- Raise a total of $30,000 to make all this happen.
The Vision:
- Empower kids in developing regions who are hungry for change. I envision more kids becoming changemakers, and I aim to expand this program to more schools in the world who need it the most.
- Offer our world an unfiltered glimpse into diverse lifestyles
The Deal:
- We need to raise a total of 30k to reach full expansion of the program. All this in turn is a step towards a future where these kids shape their communities and lives.
