Help Natalie the Brave Take on Ewing Sarcoma

My name is Patrick Davis and I am looking to raise financial support to help offset the cost of medical treatment for my best friend David’s almost two-year-old daughter, Natalie. David Anson and his wife Nicole recently received the devastating news that Natalie has Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of aggressive bone and soft tissue cancer. She has started treatment with chemotherapy which will proceed throughout 2022 with planned hospitalizations nearly every other week. They also anticipate a major surgery to remove the mass from her chest, in addition to possible radiation therapy within the next 6 months.

The cost and coordination of treatment has been life-altering for the Anson family. While they have received support from friends and family, Natalie’s frequent hospitalizations have been a challenging transition. Shortly after Natalie was born, the Ansons moved to Kansas City for David’s medical residency and are now separated from close friends or family. Being a resident involves working a lot of hours for very little pay. In order to maintain insurance benefits and a source of income, David is continuing his residency while trying to pay down debt from medical school. Nicole has been working part time, but this has become very difficult since Natalie’s diagnosis and frequent hospitalizations. Nicole and David are also expecting a baby girl in late May 2022. Even with insurance, medical costs for the Ansons are piling up. The nausea from chemotherapy caused Natalie to lose weight, and she was recently re-admitted to the hospital for placement of a feeding tube. Unfortunately, the formula to maintain Natalie’s weight and nutrition will not be covered by insurance which will add a significant financial burden as they work to support Natalie through cancer treatment.
