Our Local Hero’s

Hi,My name is Jordyn. I’m the oldest granddaughter to one of these firefighters who fought tirelessly to save their neighbourhood. Billie Hyde is a close family friend who is posting this on my behalf. I see my Grandpa and his department work all night and all day to save the homes in their community.

This department is made up exclusively of volunteers. These men and women spend their spare time training, educating and practicing drills to be the best they can be for situations like this. However, no one could imagine how much devastation the McDougall fire has caused.

All of the firefighters listed have lost their homes and even amidst devastating loss, they have selflessly carried on trying their best to save their neighbours. They are fearless, selfless and take care of their neighbours and their community.

And now it’s time for them to receive love, support and gratitude.

We would like to raise funds to be distributed by my Grandpa (Tom Crocker) evenly among the firefighters to help ease the burden of the coming months and years while rebuild their homes and community. They’ve battled hard and faced this personal devastation while maintaining their commitment to their community.

I know $500k seems like a huge amount, but split between these amazing humans it’s about $38,000 each which is a drop in the bucket, as rebuilding will take years to complete.

Any remaining money above this goal will get split between all members of the Wilson Landing Fire Hall as our heartfelt gratitude for everything the department has done for us all.

So let’s show them how much we support them, and appreciate their bravery and sacrifice!

The funds will be transferred into a bank account opened by Meaghan Alton (daughter of Tom Crocker, one of the fire fighters), specifically and exclusively for this fundraiser. She will split the money equally, and etransfer to all the fire firefighters listed above.
