Give a Stray Cat a Chance at a Healthy Life
Donation protected
I am a cat lover. I know my neighborhood's stray cats by heart. I know the regular cats who come to my doorstep for food, but this one was a new one. It’s been a couple of weeks since this cat popped up at my doorstep. The strays I care for aren’t visibly sick. He/she is emaciated. But, even though they’re sick, they’re still so sweet. I’ve been giving him/her Fancy Feast wet food or kibble mixed in with kitten milk replacement to provide some nutrition. After building trust, I was able to pick him up and give him a Dawn dish soap bath in my backyard to get rid of some fleas. I also borrowed one of my dog’s sweaters to keep him warm during the storms. I live in Florida; it is very hot and lately, we’ve been having several storms. I haven’t been able to bring him in because I have two dogs of my own, one being 15 years old and the other 3 years old. I’m nervous he may have something contagious that can harm my dogs.
I’m asking for help to be able to provide veterinary care to this cat. He deserves a chance to be healthy and live comfortably. Once provided veterinary care and it’s clear he doesn’t have anything transmissible, I will foster him in my home. I’m a college student with two dogs of my own. Unfortunately, I’m unable to cover the vet expenses for him. I’m estimating the costs may be $1,000+. If donations are received, I plan to take him to a non-profit clinic called Paws2Help. Whatever you’re able to donate, it is appreciated. Thank you for your time.
