Fundraising for Sundiata Acoli

Dear Friends,
On May 28, 2014 Sundiata Acoli's attorney presented an oral arguement before the Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division seeking his freedom after serving over 40 years in prison. He has been repeatedly denied by the New Jersey State parole board for many years. This is the first time an appeal on Sundiata's behalf has been argued before the court. We are cautiously optimistic regarding this critical decision to be made by a panel of three judges and Sundiata needs your support.
Legal fees for this type of case can be costly, especially if further appeals are needed. The Sundiata Acoli Freedom Campaign is requesting your help in raising funds to pay for these legal expenses. Any donation amount is welcome! No amount is too small.
There are many reasons why Sundiata deserves his freedom but here are just a few:
Sundiata has a loving family and community ready to welcome him home.
He is 77 years-old and not a threat to public safety. People his age demonstrate a near zero recitivism rate.
Even while in prison, Sundiata has maintained an excellent non-violent prison record that includes educational workshops, mentorship and positive feedback.
