Tashi Lhunpo Monastery Food Funds
Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is home to over 400 Tibetan monks and is based in Bylakupee near Mysore South India.
In any normal year the monks would have just completed their annual cultural tour of the U.K. and Europe raising much needed funds for the day to day upkeep and running of the Monastery.
The food budget being a vital daily cost along with education and welfare of the monks .
Funds are allocated to the various budgets by the Monastery Administrators. The annual food cost alone to feed the 413 monks is approx. £32,000.
The challenges to provide food has been made more difficult by the Coronavirus crisis. The Monastery has been in lockdown since March with only a few monks allowed to leave the grounds and buy food from the local markets. Regrettably these monks are now quarantined as cases of COVID-19 are reported in the Monastery and surrounding area.
We hope with your kind support that we can achieve our initial target of £1000 however any additional funds would be very much appreciated by the Monastery.
Thank you
