I wanted to provide you with an update on my sister, Erica's surgery, which took place on Tuesday, September 26th.

While the procedure did not go exactly as planned, we are relieved to share that the surgeon, Dr. Warso, was able to successfully remove any cancerous mass he discovered during the operation. Initially, Erica had a cancer mass solely on her stomach; however, during the surgery, Dr. Warso discovered that the mass had extended and was touching her pancreas. As a result, he had to remove a significant portion of her stomach along with her spleen and part of her pancreas.Although it was an unexpected turn of events, we are grateful that Dr. Warso took prompt action and ensured that all cancerous tissues were removed. Moving forward, Erica will undergo four additional rounds of chemotherapy as part of her treatment plan.We appreciate all the love and support we have received during this challenging time. Support Erica's Fight Against Gastric Adenocarcinoma

Dear friends and family,

I hope you are all in good health and high spirits. Today, I reach out to you on behalf of my

sister, Erica Avila, who is currently battling gastric adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer). Since her

diagnosis on June 7th, 2023, Erica has faced immense challenges and uncertainties that have

completely reshaped her life.

Prior to her diagnosis, Erica was excelling in her third year as a dedicated Registered Nurse

(RN). However, the sudden onset of this aggressive form of cancer has forced her to put her

career on hold. She has been unable to work due to the numerous doctor appointments and

intense chemotherapy sessions she must endure.

To date, Erica has bravely completed four rounds of chemotherapy. The next step in her

treatment journey involves a complex surgery to remove 80% of her stomach. Following the

surgery, she will undergo another four rounds of chemotherapy. This grueling process not only

takes a toll on Erica physically but also financially.
