Hi all! Sorry, I wish I had the time to cut an awesome and witty video, but my laptop is at 32% and hey, lol, it's a reality of not having power.
I'm filming a promo here at an orphanage (Relief for Kids in Haiti). Short story: they need a generator—we're looking at a solar powered one at the moment (About $2000)
Yes the need is immediate, but eventually they want to get a program going to teach the kids English and computer literacy for online classes. But first, they need power.
I have $600 in tips from the coffee shop and will be adding to that when I get home. I'm hoping you'll join me for the remainder and help me get the funding to them by my birthday (end of July) :)
Their present rented generator. A full tank (5 gal.) will last them a day, at $10/gal. There's not a lot of money to pay out for things, so renting isn't the best option. It also isn't strong enough to power a refridgerator, so they fill a chest full of ice every day to keep things cool.
