Lori’s Cancer Fight
Donation protected
Family & Friends,
On 2/27/23 my mom, Lori Halahuni, went to the ER with what she thought was a pulled groin muscle, only to be told she has cancer. She was then transferred to Good Sam Hospital in Puyallup where she went through a bone biopsy, more scans, and more tests to find out she wasn’t only diagnosed with cancer but that she also has type 2 diabetes and blood clots in her lungs. After 8 long days in the hospital she was discharged on 3/7/23 and had her first appointment with her oncologist, Dr. Joseph, on 3/10/23 where he explained to us that she has a type of blood cancer called Plasmacytoma in her pelvis. She will undergo a PET scan of her whole body followed by a bone marrow biopsy starting next week to check if there is Plasmacytoma anywhere else in her body. This type of cancer will be managed with radiation therapy and we will find out more about that after her PET scan and bone marrow biopsy.
Because of these new diagnoses, my mom has been put on a bunch of new medications (some temporary and some for the rest of her life) and so all money raised will go towards her medical expenses, medications, and other financial needs (i.e gas/rides to and from appointments).
Her oncologist is hopeful she can return to work at some point but it’s dependent on how her body responds to the radiation.
Most of you may know that my mom beat colon cancer 12 years ago (Thank you, God!) and we know she will best this one too! Please continue to pray for total healing over her. We thank everyone for taking the time to read this and help support my mom during this time, we love and appreciate you all!
