Help Denise Beat Cancer

Thank you all for showing your caring, love and support through your contributions and thoughts and prayers. Denise (Mom) has had some challenges over the past year and has also made good progress towards healing. It has been a year and 3 months since her cancer diagnosis. She started out with three chemo treatments, which wasn't shrinking the cancer. Her oncologist then wanted to start Keytruda infusions, an immunotherapy treatment. She had to find a new place for treatment because of insurance issues.  The first CT scan, in November of 2022, after starting Keytruda, showed 20%-30% growth so the oncologist decided to add Lenvima, an oral therapy that helps block tumor growth. This stopped the tumor growth but also caused severe side effects, which lowered her quality of life tremendously for 2 1/2 months. She's had two hospital stays and one of them was gallbladder surgery, which was this past March.  The CT scan in  January showed a  stable condition and no tumor growth. Kidney stent surgery was every 3 months and have since been removed with a scan coming up to check the function of her kidneys without the stents. She has since been seeing a Nutritionist and a Nurse Practitioner, who practice in Functional Medicine.  Blood work is done and other tests which insurance doesn't cover, along with the office visits and much needed supplements. They have helped tremendously by treating the cause, helping to heal from the inside out. She is also continuing with Keytruda infusions every 3 weeks, and is taking a lower dose of the oral therapy medication. Denise has more energy and less pain and is very optimistic about the healing path she is on. She hasn't been able to work because of the side effects and has many appointments and doctor office visits, nutritional supplements and medications, insurance deductibles and costs that insurance doesn't cover.  Robert has had to miss work occasionally to take her to surgeries, procedures and hospital visits. It has been a financial struggle with only one income and all of the extra medical expenses and the cost of getting her body to an optimal healthy state to heal her body of cancer.
