Tracey’s Kids

Dear Friends and Community Members,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that our beloved Tracey MacLean lost her life unexpectedly in a car accident in Gilford, in a head-on collision with another vehicle on Saturday July 13th.

Tracey was a shining star in her community and in her family. Tracey was an extraordinary mom to three wonderful children, including a grown daughter, Hayleigh, and two boys still in high school, Landon and Ryder. She raised, and was still raising, incredible kids, against all odds at times. She worked tirelessly for her children. She loved them endlessly and she had so much love left to give.

An amazing role model with a dazzling smile, she graced everyone she met with her beautiful presence. Tracey leaves behind a large and loving family, and multiple communities that feel lost without her. In fact, Tracey saw EVERYONE as family and treated them with love and generosity. Here are just a few examples of the unsung community hero she was:

  • You would always find her behind the lens of her camera capturing all the special moments at every event. Her photos speak to her legacy and she will be remembered forever through the beauty she captured for the Newfound and Plymouth communities, and beyond. She spent countless hours taking sports pictures, senior pictures, team pictures, individual pictures…perfecting them because she loved doing it and took pride in the efforts of ALL the kids. She not only focused on her own kids, but on their friends and teammates, even capturing special moments for opposing teams - sharing those photos on social media or in whatever way she could, to make sure they saw them.
  • She donated her time to two high schools with media day so their athletes could be recognized and have a spotlight and voice.
  • She showed up at every sporting event she could fit into her schedule, whether her kid was on the team or not. She made sure kids with special needs had the chance to shine in her beautiful photos too, from Unified sports teams to Special Olympics.
  • She opened her home for teens to hang out; she hosted team meals; she provided our kids a fun and safe place to be themselves. She never failed to show endless support for not only her kids and their teams, but every kid and team at Newfound.
  • She made hundreds of fanciful and gorgeous cakes, mostly donating them, for weddings, birthdays, graduations, Girl Scouts, team events, family get-togethers…just about any occasion her family, friends, or community were celebrating.
  • She never let a kid go without, EVER. She kept a snack drawer at Plymouth Regional High School, making sure no kid went hungry.
  • She surprised the families of sick kids with care packages…and she often included something special for the exhausted parents too, and even some dog treats. For many of us, enduring the pandemic was just a little easier due to Tracey’s sweet care.

As we come together to grieve and support one another, our hearts particularly ache for Tracey’s two young sons, Landon and Ryder, who face the unimaginable reality of growing up without the amazing mother that Tracey was.

To ensure that Landon and Ryder have the financial support they need now and in the future, we ask you to consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign (anyone not wanting to use GoFundMe can Venmo Dan MacLean @nadycats33). Funds raised will be used directly for their immediate needs, and in creating a secure future for them. Your kindness and generosity will help provide them with the stability and resources they deserve as they navigate life without their devoted mother. From everyday expenses to educational opportunities, every contribution will make a profound difference for the boys, and will reflect some of the generosity that their mom shared with her community.

We also ask that you share this campaign with your networks to help spread the word. Thank you for keeping Tracey’s memory alive and for supporting her sons during this heartbreaking time. No amount of money could ever live up to the love she gave everyone around her, but we hope we can help ease the burdens as the boys grow into the wonderful men she was raising them to be.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The MacLean Family
