SAVE A LIFE IN TÜRKİYE

Save a life in Türkiye is een non-profit organisatie die zich focust op het hulp bieden aan de slachtoffers van de aardbeving van februari 2023 in Turkije. Tienduizenden mensen zijn omgekomen tijdens de aardbeving en duizenden zijn gewond geraakt. Daarnaast stortten talloze gebouwen in waardoor het aantal daklozen is toegenomen. Save a Life in Türkiye is in eerste instantie begonnen met het verzamelen van goederen op hun vaste verzamelpunt Megafloors in Ijsselstein. Deze actie is gebloeid tot een enorme succes, omdat inmiddels onze 8ste vracht Turkije heeft bereikt. De vrachtwagens worden ingezet door Stichting VHTS die zich ook heeft aangesloten bij onze organisatie.

Tijdens de oprichting van Save a Life in Türkiye zijn we erachter gekomen dat enkel het leveren van goederen niet voldoende is en we ook gelddonaties nodig hebben. We hebben vooral nauwe contacten met de Turkse reddingsoperatie AFAD en zijn recent goedgekeurd als stichting door de Turkse consulaat in Nederland. Zij informeren ons over bijvoorbeeld de voedselpakketten die moeten worden verzorgd of de donaties die nodig zijn voor het in stand houden van de huishoudens van slachtoffers.

Save a life in Türkiye is a non-profit organization focusing on assisting the victims of the recent earthquake of February 2023 in Türkiye. Tens of thousands of people died in the earthquake and thousands were injured. On top of that, countless buildings collapsed resulting in a very serious number of homeless people. Save a Life in Türkiye initially started collecting goods at their collection point Megafloors in IJsselstein. Meanwhile, our 8th shipment has already reached Türkiye, which means that we have achieved success with the collection. The trucks are sent by the VHTS Foundation, which has also joined our organization.

During the establishment of Save a Life in Türkiye, we found out that just supplying goods is not enough and we also need monetary donations. We are in constant contact with the Turkish rescue operation AFAD and have recently been approved as a foundation by the Turkish consulate in the Netherlands. They provide us with the necessary information that is needed to maintain the victims' households.
