Help Support Aaron Shelton's Medical Recovery Fund

Aaron Shelton, the son of Brad and Gaylyn Shelton, is a 40-year-old veteran from Claremore, OK, who served four tours in Iraq and Qatar.

Aaron suffered a life-threatening medical emergency on February 24, 2023. He was rushed to Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, being intubated on the way, and when it was apparent he needed more intense emergency care, he was transferred to Hillcrest South Tulsa the same night. Aaron was on a ventilator and dialysis for over two months, dying once while in the hospital, with little hope from his doctors that he would ever leave ICU alive. Aaron has proved them wrong.

He is out of ICU, not currently on dialysis or a ventilator, and fighting hard. He has lost most of his muscle mass and still has many organ deficiencies and severe and debilitating weakness. He has months of rehab and medical treatments, and the hope is that he can get back home and eventually resume work. Until then, Aaron faces immense medical bills with no source of income.

Update May 20, 2023: Aaron was released from the rehabilitation hospital this last Tuesday against all odds. He walked out with a walker and not in a wheelchair. Aaron is at home and has started home health care and will start in-home rehab next week and, eventually, out-of-home physical therapy. His vocal cords are still stretched and bruised from being intubated for seven weeks. With some work, they will hopefully recover to normal.
