Let's put ourselves in Aaron shoes for 1 moment:
It's a Friday night and you are on your way home from a long day’s work. You're about to turn down the street leading to your house and a fire truck and police car zip past you. You think to yourself, man, somethings always happening around here. You turn down your street only to see the very fire truck and police car that flew past you, going through your apartment gates. You instantly notice the thick grey smoke hovering over the back of your apartments...where you live. Your heart rate increases as both you and the fire truck head towards the direction of your apartment with the news crew right behind you. Everything seems like it's going in slow motion as paranoia creeps in and your family faces flash before your eyes. As you franticly look for your phone, it rings. "HELLO?!"
Could you imagine this being your story? I couldn't, but unfortunately our classmate Aaron Mayes had to go through this similar situation. He was blessed enough to still have the treasures that cannot be replaced like his life, and his beautiful family, but he is now facing the burden of having to start over. It Could've Been Me, was created for all of our 05 classmates to come together to support our friend, not just in the good times we've recently reminisced from the past, but when someone truly needs a helping hand. Let's show compassion and good character because it could have easily been anyone of us driving up to our inflamed apartment in pure fear. Wouldn't you want someone to be there for you?
