Our family is learning just how devastating Type I Diabetes (also known as Juvenile Onset Diabetes) can be. Our Wife, Mother, and daughter in law, Holly Murphy, was first diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of six. It has not been easy to control her diabetes and she has had numerous hospitalization and Emergency visits in the past related to this awful disease. In 2006, Holly and I welcomed our daughter, Harlie, to the family. The pregnancy was difficult and left Holly disabled, unable to work, but able to mother and nuture her.
Last Friday, February 10, 2017, Holly was found unconscious at home. She experienced a critical complication related to her diabetes that has left her unconscious and on advanced life-support. Holly’s prognosis is unclear at this time but doctors are predicting a long rehabilitation if she is ever to gain consciousness. As you might imagine, this is taking a huge toll on our family. The emotional stress is enormous and unbearable .
Holly is the best mother and wife we could ever have been blessed with. After losing her parents at a very young age, she is determined to create the life for our daughter that she never had. She is the happiest person you could be around , she loves everybody and everybody loves her . Holly greets everyone she meets with a smile and as a friend.
In response to the mounting medical expenses, and time away from work, we are setting up this Go-Fund-Me page to help with some of the financial burden of this devastating life-event.
We will provide updates on Holly’s progress as her condition improves or changes. Our deepest thanks to all our friends and strangers who have offered their prayers and support during this very difficult time.
