Tim's Recovery
Donation protected
Tim is a 38 year old husband and father of 3 children, ages 2 through 9. Last August he went into the hospital for surgery on an aneurysm located near his brain stem. After his surgery Tim experienced a loss of hearing in his right ear and partial paralysis in his face and right eye. He lost his ability to swallow food. He suffered repeated infections, and was in and out of intensive care for many weeks.
After 3 hospitals and 2 rehab centers Tim has finally come home. He is learning how to swallow, eat, speak and working hard to get mobility back. He needs to learn how to walk again. He will need additional therapy. He needs nursing care so that he can continue to live at home. Tim has had success working with a Feldenkrais therapist and he would like to continue. He would also like to continue to take nutritional supplements to build up his strength.
Tim's neurologist tells us that therapy for next 12 to 18 months is critical to his recovery. We would like to get Tim a recumbent Bike so he can get outside and exercise on the trails. His goals include being able to eat hamburgers and french fries and being able to play with his children again.
$10,000 would help us to pay for these services without taking the funds from his family budget and help Tim on his road to recovery to the end of this year and into 2016. Please consider what you can do to help us reach this goal.
