Join us in transforming the lives of abandoned orphans, street & vulnerable children in Uyo city, Nigeria. We are raising funds for Bethesda House of Mercy Orphanage, a project of Church of Blood of Christ in Oklahoma, United States, to take street kids back to alternative family-based care.
Most orphans are abandoned by their parents, extended family & community & left to die in Uyo streets. They are the world's poorest people, helpless, hopeless & voiceless. Orphans are malnourished, victimized, neglected, exploited and abused daily. They are at-risk of infectious diseases, rape, starvation, gang activities, criminality, human trafficking (for sex, drugs & child labor), ritual killings, or addictions. They survive by rags-picking, pick-pocketing, living and feeding off city dumps. Some are orphaned by death of both parents due to HIV/AIDS pandemic. Many have AIDS-infection & other illnesses, disabilities, poverty in family, accused as witches or displaced by ethnic conflicts. Some orphans head households and die without identity with no one to care for them. Street orphans lack shelter, food & nutrition, clothes, education, healthcare, jobs and support. They are developmentally deprived & economically disadvantaged without Government or social assistance. A normal child enjoys over 24 Rights (UNICEF) but at-risk ORPHANS have NO RIGHTS.
Your donations will restore 12 Basic Child Rights back to orphans. This is our commitment. Help take Uyo city orphans back home to alternative family care like fostering & adoption. So far I have been able to secure an Emergency Shelter to house about 30 kids, more is needed to see this dream come true. While permanent placement in an orphanage is our last resort, our street kids express no desire to go back home but remain with us at BHM till the age of emancipation. It is clear that they need a space of their own, the reason we are requesting funding up to $3.3M for land, facilities development & programing to include: Dorm, Vocational School, Children's Church, Community Trading Store and Agricultural Development for sustainability and socio-economic strengthening. Children do so much better if connected to caring people, families & community. Currently, Bethesda supports orphans with love & care though our meagre resources, however children's needs are overwhelming. We would appreciate your contributions in cash, kind, prayers and technical assistance.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this noble cause that means so much to God, the society & Bethesda House. May God bless our supporters in every way. For further inquiries please connect with Bishop Patience on FB, Website at: www.zionscause.com and email us at: [email redacted].
