UPDATE 9/11/2024
A injured young female pittie was brought in and needs emergency care. We ended up providing emergency care and securing her with a temporary/permanent (!) foster. She has a large draining abscess with an open wound that cannot be closed surgically. The "foster" is committed to her continued care. Additionally, we will use the remaining funds to provide her with preventative care and get her spayed. Thank you to everyone who donated to help this little girl!
UPDATE 9/7/2024
We have decided to help out a stray cat that was found with a serious injury that left him in need of a limb amputation. He already has a home waiting for him! Your generous donations enable us to continue helping out pets in need. His amputation was performed on 9/11 and he is doing great! Planning to send him home next week!
Our three rescued kittens have all found permanent homes. Jack will be living with Meghan, our veterinary technician.
Ethan and Elliott will remain here as clinic cats, so stop by our website to see updates on them as they grown.
Apollo is our adult Pittie that is in desperate need of his forever home. We are thankful to have a willing, but temporary foster for him so he is not stuck living in the clinic. Please call us if you are interested in meeting him. Our website will be updated with him shortly!
UPDATE 7/31/24
Placement of Angelo was successful thanks to everyone's donations. He is now a whopping 13 lbs! We have a new kitten and adult Pittie in need of immediate foster. The kitten has an injured leg; the Pittie is Perfect!
UPDATE 4/8/2024. We have now placed 21 abandoned pets in their forever homes. It is a never ending situation here, so we will keep the gofundme open indefinitely. Thank you all for the support.
On 8/30, Iceberg was abandoned in Crown Point at 10.5 years of age. She came with a leg injury, wounds to her face and eyes, and severely matted fur. Otherwise, no major illnesses. ADOPTED ON 11/25/2023.
On 9/11, Bun-Bun was left in the middle of the parking lot for 8 hours in the rain. She came to us with severe, necrotic and open wounds of her back legs and tail and her teeth so overgrown there was no way she could eat normally. We have managed her wounds, cut back her teeth, and purchased a new hutch for her. She is not up for adoption, but will remain in the clinic for clients to enjoy. She is extremely friendly and we are planning to train her!
SHE PASSED AWAY IN DECEMBER 2023 DESPITE ALL OUR EFFORTS.
On 9/21, Keller was tied to the front gate, his poor skin covered in fleas and open wounds. He has significant hearing and vision loss and is heartworm positive. We have started therapy for him, but he needs surgery to be neutered and medication to eliminate the heartworm disease. Right now, he is in very early stages of heartworm disease, but delaying his care could result in progression of the disease and long term issues. Treatment cannot be started until he has a home! Treatment takes about 90 days so he needs a dedicated owner to help him through this.
ADOPTED ON 9/30/2023
On 9/28, Morris, an intact black male kitty, was dumped on the doorstep. Seems healthy, but simply terrified of people. He will take some time to acclimate and be ready for adoption.
ADOPTED ON 10/6/2023.
All of the above pets, and others not mentioned, are only able to remain at the clinic and be cared for with your help. Please consider adopting Keller, Iceberg, or Morgan, share if you can't adopt, donate if you can! Our team has already treated and found homes for 18 abandoned pets in the past 4 years and we need your help to keep up! Anything will help.
