Abbie’s London Marathon

Donation protected
In June 2024 I applied through the ballot for the London Marathon 2025 and was lucky enough to get a place first time. As soon as I got my spot I knew that I wanted to raise money for a charity close to my heart Billy Lardner’s legacy fund. Billy was a very special person and I had the pleasure of him being part of my life for those 16 years and making memories which I will treasure forever.

Billy's life was tragically taken too soon in June 2023 in a fatal hit and run accident. His Legacy Fund helps raise money to support young people in accessing sports, activities, and the assistance they may need, particularly for those with greater financial needs or from underprivileged backgrounds. Recently, the fundraising efforts have expanded further, helping schools in South Asia as well as local schools in Dorset. Please take a minute to look at the Facebook page to see where some of the funding has helped.

When I started this tough journey I wasn’t a runner and was in a cycle of being unhealthy.

Being given this amazing opportunity has been the best thing for me physically and mentally, the training is tough and the marathon will be one of the hardest things I will have faced but I will keep Billy in my thoughts throughout it all and know that he will be looking down on me giving me strength.
