Abbott Family Devastated By Suicide

Donation protected
Our Friend and colleague, Jory Abbott, was a beautiful, loving and big hearted soul.  Wonderful  partner to Shannon Graham, and a proud, loving father to 14 month old Oliver.

Friday, February 21, 2020 Shannon and Oliver lost their partner and father to suicide.  Behind Jory's smile, his funny nature, was so much pain.  Jory had dedicated his life to his beautiful partner Shannon Graham, and son Oliver.  They were his life.  He was hard working, caring, and was such a funny man.  He always made us smile at work with his quick wit.  He touched many lives here in the funeral industry, and to lose him in such a way was an absolute shock for all of us.

Shannon and Oliver have lost their partner, friend and father so quickly and unexpectedly .  The life they were planning and building together is gone, and now Shannon is faced with raising Oliver as a single mother.

To all that have seen or shared Shannon's story, we thank you.  Know that each and everyone of you are making a difference in Shannon and Oliver's lives.

For those battling depression or facing suicidal thoughts, know that there is hope and purpose to your life, we want you to reach out and speak with someone.   Even if you call our office, we are here to talk.

In our industry we see this all too often unfortunately, but when it hits so close to home, we go through all the emotions and what if's.

Through this page we are not only wanting to support Jory's family, but to bring light to the suicide epidemic.  Knowing that Oliver will never know the joy of running to meet Daddy when he gets home, watching Oliver go to his first day of School,  graduate from High School or find the love of his life,  breaks all of our hearts.

Lives are often built with the outlook that both parents will be there to provide for the family.  Shannon and Jory had just purchased a house in the last year.  She has only just returned to work from maternity leave.  She is going through such a trauma, while having to look after Oliver while doing so.  Not only emotional support but financial support is going to be needed in the next few months to get her back on her feet.

We would so appreciate if you could share this page with the hope that Shannon's story is met with understanding, compassion and generosity.
