Abby goes to the World Dance Competition- Prague!

Hello, my lovelies!

We are so very proud of Abigail for earning the opportunity to compete on a dance team representing Canada at the World Performers Dance Competition in Prague in 2024!

Abigail has been dancing with Excalibur Theatre Arts since they were little- starting in ballet when they were just four years old and moving up to Troupe Competition through the years. At a recent Troupe competition, Abby earned a spot on the World Performers Canadian Dance team for their Tap routine. They are over the moon about this amazing opportunity and we could not be prouder!

Unfortunately, this comes at a very difficult financial time for our family, and while we are willing to do what we can to make this happen for Abigail, the reality is that finances are tight.

As many of you know, I quit Canada Post two years ago to follow my dream of becoming a teacher. This year, I was accepted into the Education Program at UNBC, which starts in September. While I am incredibly excited for myself, it means that, for the next 18 months, I will not be able to work while I pursue a full-time scholastic schedule.

Added to this crazy set of circumstances is that Derek has recently had a change in job status and is no longer going to be working at Telus.

We want to give Abby this amazing opportunity to not only expand on their dancing skills by joining a Canada-wide team and getting to train with world-class instructors but also the opportunity to travel and experience another country! Sadly, we cannot do this alone.

So, here I am, to humbly ask for your help! Any donation can help us send Abby to Prague and we will be eternally grateful for any help.

It is not often that I ask for help, especially not this type of help, however, we are committed to making this happen for Abby, just as Abby is committed to making this happen for themself (and has been making all sorts of craft projects to sell and has been collecting cans and bottles to take to the recycling depot).
